Landscaping, hardscape and concrete in Palos Verdes Estates
Del Mar Landscaping builds yards in Palos Verdes Estates, from Malaga Cove and Valmonte to Lunada Bay: planting, pavers and stone, concrete, garden walls, drainage and irrigation, all by one licensed crew (California license #904584, C-27 Landscaping and C-8 Concrete). We're a family business, founded in 1993 and based in Long Beach. In Palos Verdes Estates we plan each job around the two reviews yard projects go through here: the Palos Verdes Homes Association's Art Jury and the City.

Palos Verdes Estates landscaping questions
Do I need Art Jury approval for a new patio or planting in Palos Verdes Estates?
Usually, yes. The Palos Verdes Homes Association says no structure can be built or altered without Art Jury approval, and it has separate applications for hardscape and for planting. We go over what your project needs on the free estimate.
How tall can a front wall or fence be in Palos Verdes Estates?
Up to 3 feet 6 inches in a required setback next to the street, and up to 6 feet 6 inches elsewhere, measured from natural or existing grade, whichever is lower. Taller walls need a special permit or Planning Commission approval.
Which plants are native to the Peninsula?
The Palos Verdes blue butterfly lives only on the Peninsula, and its host plants, deerweed and milkvetch, are sold at the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy's native plant nursery. Native and water-wise plants also suit the City's water-efficient landscape rules.
